EMISSION REDUCTIONS

Emission reductions typically come at a cost which then hinders their adoption. GNP has been innovating a range of technologies which redefine energy efficiency and power optimization through patented solutions. This applies to the three technologies GNP has developed: X120, the EXPANDER, and the JUDO Seal. Each of these technologies reduce emissions to varying degrees but most importantly they all have the potential to show payback periods of less than 1 year.

X120 “Net-Zero CCS”

The X120 is an advanced integrated system which merges post-combustion carbon capture with Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power generation to produce a “net-zero CCS” design. The patented design is capable of boosting net carbon recovery by 150% and cutting operating costs by 60%. Powering this technology is the EXPANDER, a 200 kW (ORC) unit which converts compressor waste heat into clean power. This technology drastically increases compressor throughput and carbon offsets critical to the “net-zero CCS” design.

The EXPANDER

The EXPANDER is designed to be coupled to gas compressors and it reduces emissions by recovering waste heat from engines/ turbines and generating clean power. That electricity can then be used to power the site, reducing or eliminating the import of external/ grid power, each of which would have had an associated carbon load to it.

The JUDO Seal

The JUDO Seal reduces emissions by eliminating fugitive gas emissions. Raw methane emissions have CO2 equivalents magnitudes higher than CO2 emissions and therefore this solution can dramatically reduce fugitive emissions from gas compressors. The JUDO Seal operates as a system, which controls the flow through the seal, then tying in the gas that was directed through the seal into a lower pressure point in the system.
